SUPERVISED CONTACT & CHANGEOVER SERVICES
Supervised Contact and Changeover services provide a structured, child-focused environment in which family time or transitions occur with oversight. Strongly Kinnected currently delivers supervised contact in community and in-home settings, where assessed as safe and appropriate. A venue-based supervised contact service is planned as part of future service development.
These services are designed to support safety, structure, and clear boundaries. They operate within defined referral parameters and do not determine or alter contact arrangements.

Purpose of Supervised Services
Supervised services may be used when:
-
contact requires structure or oversight
-
boundaries or emotional regulation require support
-
transitions between caregivers are challenging
-
supervision has been ordered or agreed
The purpose of supervision is not to test, assess, or evaluate parenting capacity, but to provide a safe and predictable framework for contact or changeover.

What This Service Involves
Supervised Contact or Changeover may include:
-
scheduled sessions in a supervised setting
-
neutral oversight by an authorised practitioner
-
adherence to referral conditions and service agreements
-
clear commencement and conclusion of sessions
Supervision is conducted in accordance with agreed parameters and organisational policies.

What This Service Is Not
Supervised Contact and Changeover services:
-
are not therapeutic interventions
-
are not parenting assessments
-
do not evaluate parenting capacity
-
do not determine safety, risk, or outcomes
-

Observations made during supervision are descriptive only and limited to the session context.

Observations and Records
Where required, brief session records may be maintained to document:
-
attendance
-
adherence to session parameters
-
observable interactions during the session
These records:
-
are descriptive, not evaluative
-
do not constitute assessment findings
-
are limited to the supervision context
Any reporting is governed by referral conditions and service agreements.

When Supervised Services May Not Be Appropriate
Supervised Contact may not be appropriate when:
-
the referral purpose requires a formal assessment or evaluation

therapeutic intervention is the primary need

supervision expectations exceed the service scope
Where appropriate, alternative services or referrals may be discussed.

Engaging This Service
Before Supervised Contact or Changeover services commence:
-
an intake discussion is required
-
referral parameters are reviewed
-
service scope and expectations are clarified
-
fees and scheduling are confirmed in writing
Services do not commence without clear agreement on scope and conditions.

Intake Session (Required)
Before visits begin, Strongly Kinnected completes a Supervised Contact Assessment to confirm that arrangements are safe and appropriate.

The assessment considers:
• Parenting behaviour and responsiveness during contact
• Child comfort, emotional cues, and safety indicators
• Known risks, including conflict, past harm, or unsafe behaviours
• Environmental factors to determine the safest contact setting
This process identifies the required level of supervision, any safety conditions, and the most appropriate structure for visits. It also provides clear, evidence-based recommendations for agencies, practitioners, and courts.

Important Notice
Strongly Kinnected provides Supervised Contact and Changeover services as neutral, structured support services.
We do not advocate for parties, provide legal advice, or determine outcomes.
Supervision does not imply endorsement of contact arrangements.
